Whiters Bday and Farewell Party

So today we had the official Whiter's leaving party! So it was a sad occasion mixed in with a happy occasion because it was also Whiter's Bday celebration!

It was a great event with lots of AIESEC Alumni present! Whiter's Band which has a few past AIESECers rearranged the words of Britney Spears "Hit me baby one more time" to "Oh Whiter Whiter". Was very entertaining =)

Most of the people in this photo were on the EB at one point, except one person who was the girlfriend of an ex-OCP and another who was an EB member in China =) Very AIESECey photo! There were alot more people present at the party as well including interns, however we didn't have the common sense to take a photo back then so this is what you're left with!

I'm going to leave you with one more photo of our lovely CEED enjoying her time here with a very cute puppy =p I just had to include this photo because it's soooo cute!! ... the puppy not the CEED! (Although a bit of gossip ... I hear Franklin and Ophenia have been becoming very cozy these last few days!)

Ting's Bday and a RB

Today was the birthday of our brilliant OGXL Director, Ting! She always manages to lighten up our days despite her love of everything black =p

Because of this very fact a few sneaky AIESECers decided to throw her a suprise office part-ay. But unfortunately Ting wasn't in the best of moods that day, and so it was quite hard to get her to show up! But finally through much persuasion she arrived in the office!

... unfortunately we werent expecting her to arrive at that very moment ... so we kicked her out of the office, and called people from all around Uni trying to gather them up early. So while Ting waited patiently outside the office, we shouted things like "Throw your lighter into the office ... but don't come inside". Also people like Linda could be seen running from the library to get to the office as quickly as possible =p

But anyway ... once everyone was FINALLY in the office, we let Ting inside and threw her a little birthday bash!

I baked the cake and the cookies! I just like to say this as many times as possible so people don't think I am completely useless ... although for the most part I am!

Anyway afterwards we had a quick review board for one candidate who we didn't pass in the end.

... and afterwards a few of us also went out to dinner to celebrate the night at a vietamese place I didn't know existed! Goood fuuuud!

All in all it was a good night! I had a blast and loved every second of it!

Till next blog post!

Ladi and Rucha's Birthday Dinner!

Hey Guys!

Last night a whole bunch of people came together to celebrate the birthdays of Ladi and Rucha!

The two were born 7 years apart but on the same day! It was fate =p Lots of stories were shared around the dinner table, including some which were slightly disturbing =p But all in all we enjoyed the good food and good company!

On behalf of everyone in AIESEC Auckland we want to wish you two big birthday wishes! We hope you enjoyed your birthday and are happy that you finished it off with a whole bunch of AIESECers =)

Afterwards some people came over to my house, for what was supposed to be just a few minutes, and which eventually evolved into a few hours =) My computer was so tired after all the use that it refused to start this morning, but after some TLC it's up and running again!

Look forward to seeing you all later!

Video Making Group

Hey Everyone!

Today a whole bunch of AIESECers decided to come over and start making a video that we plan to send to some potential sponsors of AIESEC.

It started off pretty calmly ...

... but like all things in Auckland our creativity became so wild that it evolved to something that looked a little bit like this =p

Ohhh well =p All good things take time =) We finally ironed out a concept that we're pretty happy with and now all that needs to happen is that we need to make sure something pretty is created!

I'll be working my hardest to make sure we have something to show for after Waitangi =p Hoooopefully we'll have something =p

We'll keep you posted!

Induct/Retain Meeting

Hey Guys!

Today the "How to Induct/Retain" group meet to discuss the implmentation of the new Junior Taskforce structure (or Induction Group structure) in our LC.

The meeting was very productive with concepts such as the newbie mentorship system and taskforce leader support being discussed. I personally am super excited about the upcoming recruitment and will be very keen to see how our implementation of our ideas is put forward!

So currently we have 31 members in our LC .... I'm just wondering how big our LC will be getting over the upcoming months!

The next meeting for this taskforce will be same time next week (4:30 on Tuesday). The "How to promote/select" group will be meeting on Thursday!

Cya!

Whiter's Farewell

Our super nice, previous Honey winner, IASC member and ex LCP of Auckland 03-04, Whiter Tang, is going to be leaving for an AIESEC internship in Poland over the next month.

So before she left she decided that she would have a little farewell dinner to say good riddance to all of us who had haunted her life over the past few years =)

It was great to catch up with so many different alumni from past AIESEC generations and those in attendance made the most of the opportunity to connect with other people (except for when I was distracted by a super cute dog!).

Anyway farewell Whiter! We look forward to hearing about all your challenging adventures in Poland!

David
