impact that you can have on othersBeing in AIESEC, many of us are interested in entrepreneurship. Therefore I would urge you all to tune in to an exciting new programme showing on TV on Thursday nights at 8:30pm.
The Dragon's Den shows five business gurus willing to invest alot of capital into just about any idea or anybody. In this new series would-be entrepreneurs pitch their new business ideas and demostrate their prototypes to try and convince the investors that their idea is worthy.
Not only is it tension filled television ,it is also very relevant to those of us wanting to succeed in the business enviroment. Lots to learn and very exciting!
Move over The Apprentice, The Dragon's Den is the HOT new thing.
The Dragon’s Den
Thursday Night TV 1 - 8.30pm
Only a few days ago, the temperature here was -25degrees. Totally felt my face, hands and legs are going to fall off. Just can't wait till this winter ends. Well lets see, what did I do during this month and Xmas? Alot of things and you might want to read them when you have spare time on your hands.
Xmas
Was invited to a polish family xmas. Very excited about it. Spent about 3 nights with them. I had few wonderful xmas pressies given to me. Totally loved it. Got a bottle of Napoleon Brandy. Don't really know what to do with this as I'm not really a drinker. A few boxes of alcoholic chocolates. hmm... those were better and very nice. :) A book about poland. Loved it. Spent days flipping over the thing. and lastly a cd with polish xmas carols. Havn't played it yet...
Over all the xmas experience was totally awesome. Had the typical polish dishes of carp, fish soup, dumplings, boiled cabage, salad and many more. Also can't get enough of their poppy seed cake. Might try and make it here. Felt like I have eaten a whole cow after the 3 days with them. I have some pictures up on the internet now so click on the link I have sent before and go to my other albums or go to the link that I'll send you later.
New Years
Well on the 27th I went to visit Sandy in Wroclaw. Luckily her flatmates were away and I was able to use one of their beds. The day after that, her friend from Germany came and that night we went skating in an open air skate rink. Wasn't as fun as it sounds as the rink was so rough that I couldn't even skate properly. It didn't help with all these pros wizzing by me.
Well we got a ride from Trojan - an AIESECer from Wroclaw, to a place in the mountains called Kowary. During the ride, we had several failed attempts at creating a singing group. I guess a career as a singer, I will not be in this life time.
We were a bit exhausted when we got there and it didn't help when we found out that we have missed dinner and no one saved us anything. Got bread and cheese instead when we complained to be dying of starvation.
The first day there was really great as we got a chance to go over to Cezh. Republic. Went to a town there and a friend bought some crystal glasses. They are quite cheap here as it only cost her around $50nzd for two sets of crystal wine glasses.
The next day we missed the first and second bus to go skiing, so we tagged along with two others to go sledding down a hill on plastic bags. I had a great time. Got really cold and wet but was really enjoying it. That night we celebrated the new years polish style. In that we missed out on the count down and ate most of the night away. And finally to finish off the new year we each gave cheers for friends and family we have missed back home. A bit depressing...Overall the new year was really great. And after the new years we went back to wroclaw to see the french Opera show Carmen. Totally didn't understand a word but we got a summary info from the net. Kinda fell asleep a few times during the show but was worth the experience.
