I need ... can you get it for me?
This will depend on what it is, how urgent is it, do you really need it. Bribes to the OC will help your cause in getting this.

Recruitment TF Semester 2, 2006: My story...

The Recruitment Taskforce was originally comprised of Alan, Francesca, Grace, Levent, Lynn, Rucha, Yifan and me.
As a bunch of AIESEC newbies and although none of us had any experience in 'recruitment'... we still chose to take up this wonderful opportunity&this big responsibility and we were determined we weren't gonna let anyone down! With what we have achieved...I don't think we let anyone down and we're just happy we didn't screw up anything lol

The Recruitment TF of semester 2, 2006 has come to an end...but honestly it is friggin' sad!
I have to tell everyone my story so let me talk lol:

Coming back from July Forum...phhewww...that was when I realised "oops...no preparation and research has been done at all" ... and I went from "super excited mode" to "panic mode" ...
The crappy weather in Windy windy Wellington didn't do me any good: ill = don't want to do any work! :-(
but still...recruitment had to start somewhere and so okay... we had our first meeting on 12 Jul...
well...the meeting was crap! lol I was crap! how the hell do you hold a meeting? what do I say? what do I talk about... it was a total mess lol but things started to improve from there when you learn from mistakes...that's how you learn...and that's what AIESEC offers you :-D
Michael joined our TF playing a supportive role but he was doing so much more than that :-)

we kept ourselves busy during that week...getting closer and closer to the starting date of semester 2 which also means...when we start our promotion!
...and I screwed up again on the first day... damn...the feeling of letting your team down feels worse than not getting the work done!
and that's another lesson I've learnt... team! team! team! ... the whole recruitment TF is about team work!

okie...to make this short... we occupied ourselves in the first 2 weeks of semester 2 with promotion... 6am chalkings! stalls! posters! flyers! lecture bashes! information sessions! orientation day! ... and anybody in the TF can tell you something always went wrong...hehe but that's just the way things are right!?!

The next 2 weeks we busied ourselves with the selection process: assessment centres and interviews! Jan returned to Auckland and joined our taskforce...
I think most of us prefer the selection part to the promotion part...lol...
it was fun! we had so much fun...but at the same time it was a hell whole lot of work!
Us newbies who only went through this process just a few months ago got to watch eager and confused lil newer newbie babies go through the same thing... and we got to be assessors...we got to be interviewers... dressed up to look all professional and it felt good sitting on the other side of the table :-D
The EB sacrificed a lot of their time during these 2 weeks...many late nights...& omg...soooo much junk food!...
I'm just so glad no one went crazy or sth hehe
Our reward was having recruited 29 new members!!! (you can find their names in the other posting) and phewww... did we not feel good after selection?!? ... half of our mission was accomplished!

Thanks to Michael and the delivery team for a fun and successful induction camp... hehe (great parties too :-)

oooh...and before I forget...during the selection process, we've also started our 'selection process for SNs' ... ~~~ coffee talk is fun!!!

so...after all that...Andrew joined our taskforce and we started working on Review Board !!! Tasks were listed, delegated and people were followed up etc
Every member was just onto it eh!!! (Thank you guys!)

... in the end...Review Board was a success!!!
I mean really...if you think about it... each panel had 4-5 assessors, each day we ran 2 RBs at the same time and thank God, nothing crazy happened! Assessors were impressed with our candidates, everyone remembered to come when they were supposed to come lol, nobody had a breakdown dealing with the ridiculous amount of paperwork haha... and yeah...what more can I ask for??? our team did a fabolous job!
Our reward was of course having selected 11 SNs + one potential SN in pending status...

So yeah... as I mentioned before... our TF has come to an end and it's time for the Matching TF to take over and start our happy matching process :-D
it's just like...awwwwwww!!!

Despite the ups & downs we've had during this recruitment, the large amount of work, the THOUSANDS of emails, at the same time studying & catching up with uni work etc...... we've all managed to come out of this alive weeeeeeeee!!! & each of us has learnt so much & we have really gained some valuable skills & experience...

I would like to acknowledge and express my gratitude to my team:
Alan, Andrew, Francesca, Grace, Jan, Levent, Lynn, Michael, Rucha, Yifan.
just like Rucha said...we are the coolest :-D
Thank you!
yay!!!!

okie...I'll shut up now lol

New SNs ...weeeeee...

Congratulations to our 11 new SNs...

Adam Rakich
Dipra Ray
Don Franklin
Grace Kim
Johnny Kang
Levent Okyay
Olivia Lo
Rimoni Leota
Sarah Sinnott

Yi Fan Ngui
(one more potential SN in pending mode...)
bye bye to Recruitment TF...the Matching TF will take over from here... weeee so exciting!!!
our HAPPY MATCHING process starts...Now!!!

What do you know! Finance Bonding rocked!

Finance oldies TF had our first bonding event last week!! it was so cool to spend some time together on a Friday! =)
I met up with Yifan first around 12 pm on Friday. So we went around midcity and did some typical girls' thing. You know what we saw!!! these really really cute cartoon soft toys- TORO cat!!! (they have it in Taiwan as well). See pic
Later on we met up with Riduan around 2pm and we started buying veges and ingredients for that night's dinner!! We decided to cook ourselves coz Yifan really like the feeling that a family is having a meal together and the process of making the meal. See how strongly Yifan feels about Finance TF...

We went to Yifan's apartment after that! and for the first time i saw Yifan's Boyfriend!! although just a glim, but enough for me and Riduan to be excited, "omg, so he is Yifan's Boyfriend, so thats him.." and i managed to take a photo of him from the back with Riduan doing random moves in my photo! See pic!

When we left Yifan's apratment and dropped off all the food we bought, we went out again and this is the confusing part, because i cant exactly remember what we did in that 2-3 hours time! we went out, we went along queen street, we went on bus, we went to midcity, autrium on elliot, downtown shopping mall, hired a movie to watch that night (we spent so much time at the video place tho, trying to decide which one to watch. Yifan and I really really wanted something "extreme" to watch for our bonding time... but in the end we hired something that is not that extreme but enough for us to remember for a long long time) and went to hulu cat to have a hour (i m pretty sure it was more than that) of Finance Functional time!!! But we were so in to the meeting and i forgot to take any photo in Hulu cat!! =(
Anyways, my post is getting a bit too long!

We went back to Yifan's apatment and we (including me!!!) started to cook for dinner! we had Tom Yum noodle (i didnt know what Tom Yum is until that day, its basically a thai cooking sauce and its a bit spicy, a bit sour and its really really good with noodle!) Riduan and Yifan did most of the cooking, and i was trying to help by taking photos and wiping the table!! so helpful i know! and a pic to get u guys hungry!!! so yum... u guys should all try it some time!
The movie that we watched during dinner was about in ancient korean time, there were people who perform drama, skits on the street and try to make a living! There is a guy who look so much like a girl, who some horny rich guys tried to "something" him for a night! he and his friend tried to escape from these people (including their boss who were trying to "sell" him to some horny rich guy) thus they went to Seoul (where the emperor lives). All sort of things happened and it got to a point where the emperor is so fond of the guy/girl! The emperor doesnt find his consort interesting/ attractive anymore and does a lot of silly stuff! So u know what will happen, the consort, the ministers all try to kill the guy/girl coz they think he is the reason causes so much trouble to the empire.. But omg, the guy is so much like a girl, even we were really impressed/ amazed, who has the body, who has the look and who has been "insulted" by so many guys! (ps. the emperor couldnt control his own feeling for him, so he kissed him.. that was so traumatic! we was like "ewwww...oh my god") Want to know the ending? talk to Yifan!!! =P thats all for now and what do you know, Finance Bonding rocked!!! right Yifan and Riduan? =)

Mialy's Birthday!!!

Okie…okiee… sorrryyy!!!
Should have posted this agess agoo… but yeah…here it is now!

All of you should have been well informed that it was Mialy’s 25th birthday on Saturday, 26th August.
At 7.15pm, Eunnie, Christina, Carina, Michael,, Karina, Trevor and I were waiting ‘patiently’ in Brooklyn Café (across a bunch of Goths…HOT!)…it took Cris & Ladi sooo long to bring our “star” of the night… Mialy Sariaka Ramanamisata!

She received sparkly cards, a pink g-string + paua shell bracelet…and of course she received our love and us being there to celebrate her 25th when she’s away from home…

Anywayzzz, sorry but I have to include this picture of Carina‘s dish…it looks so pretty, don‘t you think …(this is the way we eat our sheep, eat our sheep, eat our sheep…baaaa)

More surprises for Mialy after dinner:
Eunnie and Carina brought out a chocolate cake with candles lit up and we sang the Happy Bday song for her…in English.
Then of course, it’s always an AIESEC tradition to sing the song in many different languages…so going around the table, we end up singing Happy Birthday 6 times in 6 diff languages … Shame Trevor can’t speak “Zimbabwe-ian”…lol jokes…

Ohhh and Rucha made it on time for the choc cake!! …and ohh my…that was YUM…(don’t think about CALORIES though haha)

The waiter who served us was really kind and shouted Mialy a shot of tequila…awww I Want!!

After the lovely dinner, we went to Mexican Café and check out what we got up to…

Well…they say… “a picture paints a thousand words

Before:

And….

!!!After!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....boooozzzeeee!

Then… Eunnie led us to this Korean Karaoke place that looked really dodgy… you had to enter a code at this door and then another code at the door upstairs...man... we were scared for a while...
Man...did we goo WILLDDD in our private Karaoke room!!! (noo...don't think sick!) ...We were all competing for..."MIALY IDOL" haha

Damn, everyone was really good, Rucha and I were basically just screaming in the mic...but we found our tunes eventually...especially when we sang "barbie girl"... man, we own the mic at that moment!!! :-)
Eunnie was basically a pro! and Ladi was awesome except when it came to Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" ... It did not sound like that song AT ALL!!...sorry Ladi...

The night ended with Mialy and Christina shaking their booty on the tables to Usher's "YEAH" ... and our time was up...awwwww... It was 2 something a.m in the morning but it felt like 9pm on Queen Street...we had our huggies and kissies...said our byebyes for the night (oh actually... more like "morning" and headed back home...

If you look at the photos, you can see a big smile on everyone's faces and Mialy had the biggest smile...that was our mission and we achieved it! weee yay!

Okay...I know this might sound lame but I can't stop here without thanking a few ppl:
"Big thanks to Carina, Christina, Cristiane, Karina, Eunnie, Michael, Ladi, Lamie, Rucha, Trevor and Mialy of course for making it such a splendid night!!! Although many of you were really tired, you still came and stayed for Mialy and that's something I'm so grateful for :-)

And for those who couldn't be there with us, hope you all had fun and please join us next time!
:-)

Love you all...
one more week till midsemester break ends... make good use of your time :-)
